OnFriday April 4, Marina Prior will release a special edition boxed set titled “Songbird”through Fanfare Records which will include a brand new singleSongbird writtenby famed singer/songwriter and Fleetwood Mac keyboardist Christine McVie, aheadof a national Australian Tour.
Releasedin time for Mother’s Day, this special edition three-CD box set bundles her2013 "Encore" album featuring a collection of Marina's theatre hits; “Marina Prior Live”recorded at the spectacular Glasshouse Theatre in Port Macquarie; and 2012’s album "Both Sides Now"which showcases a journey of songs from some of the greatest singer/songwritersand popular artists of our time including Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, LeonRussell, Stephen Stills, The Carpenters, Lennon and McCartney, George Harrison,Maria Muldaur, Billy Fields, The Seekers, Don Mclean, Freddy Mercury, WendyMatthews and ABBA.
“Songbird”will be followed by a national tour kicking off in August which will see thesongstress tour to the East and West Coasts ofAustraliaincluding one performanceonly at Redland Performing Arts Centre.
2013marked the first time Marinaembarked on a concert tour celebrating the release of “Encore”selling more than 10,000 tickets nationally performing to sold-out theatres.
